Parents don't vibrate like bouncy seats or swing like swings. They bounce and sway, and that's what the mamaRoo does: it moves like you do. Our team used motion sensors to measure the movements of reals moms and dads as they soothed their babies, and replicated those motions in the mamaRoo. It's the only infant seat with five different motions, all modeled after the natural movements parents make to comfort their babies. It isn't just another infant seat. It's our baby, and we made it for yours.
The mamaRoo plush is the same great mamaRoo with a softer, plush seat fabric that's even more comfortable for your baby. Just like the classic, the plush seat is machine washable and easy to zip in and out of your mamaRoo.

I purchased the mamaRoo for my 6 week old niece
that I keep 2 or 3 days each week. She is a preemie and I was worried the movement of the swing may startle her, but she loves the swing. I do wish the swing had more head support for small infants, but other than that, it is the best!!! I am also going to use this for my first grandchild due in September 2013!!!!

I received the mommaroo for my baby shower and it was the talk of the shower! Besides its cool design it really works! My baby girl loves it! I recently bought one for my sister-in-law and cousin! Since I live in the city I do not have a lot of space; the mommaroo replaces the need for a bulky swing!

We have a colicky baby who also has reflux. We have tried everything, and we gave in and bought this after seeing it on the Dr.s show. Our baby sleeps and it's so nice that you can adjust the angle. The only down part, is that the mobile doesn't move. You have to move it yourself. She loves to look at it!

I love the mamaroo. My older daughter used it and I still use it with my new daughter. My original mamaroo stopped working and I never new why. So I purchased a new base and it worked great but it now makes a loud squeek noise. Pretty annoying. However my daughter still loves it. The joise goes away after an hoyr of running the mamaroo. Maybe irs just cold? I know if I were to contact the 4moms they would prob send a new base. Totally worth buying peoole

At first I was really worried, because while I LOVE the Mamaroo (seriously... adult version please!), my newborn wasn't a fan. He loved his vibrating chair, but the Mamaroo was a no-go. This replaced my beloved baby swing that made it through my other two boys and my cousin's son before breaking down, and I was disappointed.
I just kept putting my son in and playing with the noise/movement settings. He'd fuss for the first couple of minutes and then I'd change the setting. Now it's my go-to lifesaver to help settle my little guy (1 month old) when nothing else will work.
If you are struggling with your child not liking it, just keep trying and let them fuss a little bit before changing. Some kids, like mine, just need some time to get used to it.

I returned a swing as soon as the mamaRoo arrived.
Swing
- Nearly as expensive
- Too big and too heavy
- Not cool to watch
- Not pretty to look at
- Better built in sounds than mamaRoo
mamaRoo
- More expensive than swing, but cheaper than swing + vibrating seat
- Light enough to move from room to room with ease
- Beautifully designed
Some things that could make the mamaRoo better.
- Better built in sounds
- Sleep timer to automatically turn it off after a set time
- Better toy suspended above. Preferably something that moves on its own.
- Better harness and head bolstering. Our 6lb daughter slides too far down even with the seat as declined as possible. Some head bolstering would also help keep her head from rotating too far to one side when she falls asleep in mamaRoo.
